A Walmart aisle decorated in holiday decor

Black Friday is here, and as a consumer, it's totally overwhelming. You're getting inundated with so many deals from every single retailer, and it's hard to stay focused and find the best deals. Right now, we're focusing on one retailer's Black Friday sale: Walmart.

While Amazon dominates the online space, Walmart is where you go to shop low prices in person. If you prefer to avoid shipping costs and want to go hands-on with products before buying, most Walmart stores will be open until 11 p.m. local time on Black Friday. That said, all of its Black Friday deals are also available online and on the Walmart mobile app, so feel free to shop from your couch instead.

Here's everything you need to know about the Walmart Black Friday 2025 sale, including when the sale ends, whether the retailer price matches, and the best deals to shop.

When does Walmart's Black Friday sale end?

Walmart's Black Friday sale runs through Sunday, Nov. 30 at midnight ET. As mentioned, its holiday deals are available in stores, online, and on its mobile app.

On Dec. 1, Walmart will host a 24-hour Cyber Monday sale that takes place exclusively online.

Does Walmart price match Black Friday deals?

No — Walmart won't price-match other retailers' Black Friday deals, and it doesn't offer retroactive price adjustments. However, if something you bought there recently gets cheaper later on during its Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales, you can always just return it and rebuy it. Under Walmart's extended holiday return policy, most items purchased in stores or online from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31 are returnable until Jan. 31, 2026.

Walmart Cyber Monday early access

Paid Walmart+ members got to shop the retailer's Black Friday sale five hours before everyone else, and they'll get the same opportunity ahead of its Cyber Monday sale. The deals will open to Walmart+ members in early access at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 30.

If you haven't joined the Walmart+ program yet, Walmart has a promotion going on for new members. One-year subscriptions are just $49 (or 50% off) through Tuesday, Dec. 2. A Walmart+ membership comes with tons of other perks besides early access to its biggest sales, including free delivery, free access to either Paramount+ or Peacock, and gas discounts.

When the clocks change for Daylight Saving Time, and why we do it at all

The clocks on our smartphones do something bizarre twice a year: One day in the spring, they jump ahead an hour, and our alarms go off an hour sooner. We wake up bleary-eyed and confused until we remember what just happened. Afterward, "Daylight Saving Time" becomes the norm for about eight months (And yes, it's called "Daylight Saving" not "Daylight Savings." I don't make the rules). Then, in the fall, the opposite happens. Our clocks set themselves back an hour, and we wake up refreshed, if a little uneasy.  Mild chaos ensues at both annual clock changes. What feels like an abrupt and drastic lengthening or shortening of the day causes time itself to seem fictional. Babies and dogs demand that their old sleep and feeding habits remain unchanged. And more consequential effects — for better or worse — may be involved as well (more on which in a minute). Changing our clocks is an all-out attack on our perception of time as an immutable law of ...

A speeding black hole is birthing baby stars across light years

Astronomers think they have discovered a supermassive black hole traveling away from its home galaxy at 4 million mph — so fast it's not doing what it's notorious for: sucking light out of the universe. Quite the opposite, possibly. Rather than ripping stars to shreds and swallowing up every morsel, this black hole is believed to be fostering new star formation, leaving a trail of newborn stars stretching 200,000 light-years through space . Pieter van Dokkum, an astronomy professor at Yale University, said as the black hole rams into gas, it seems to trigger a narrow corridor of new stars, where the gas has a chance to cool. How exactly it works, though, isn't known, said van Dokkum, who led research on the phenomenon captured by NASA 's Hubble Space Telescope accidentally. A paper on the findings was published last week in The Astrophysical Journal Letters . “What we’re seeing is the aftermath," he said in a statement . "Like the wake behind a ship, we’r...
