Volvo EX60 is an electric SUV with Gemini AI and 400 miles of range

Volvo EX60 is probably the most important car for Volvo this decade, and the specifications show it. Officially unveiled on Wednesday, the Volvo EX60 is a mid-sized electric SUV, positioned in between the smaller EX30 and the big family hauler, the EX90, both of which are already available for purchase. Volvo says the EX60 is extremely efficient thanks to its aerodynamics, as well as thermal and propulsion efficiency. Credit: Volvo But the EX60 mimics the company's all-time best-selling model, the petrol-powered Volvo XC60. And while that car has been electrified in the form of the plug-in hybrid, the XC60 Recharge, the Volvo EX60 is the company's first, true mid-size electric SUV. Given the intense competition in that space, Volvo had to pull out the big guns to stay competitive, and that it did, at least on paper. The Volvo EX60, which is built on Volvo's new SPA3 EV architecture, has a massive 400 miles of range. It also has super-fast charging, ideally taking t...

Why Silicon Valley is losing faith in the American dream

In Silicon Valley, the servers are humming again – and so is the unease. Massive data centers packed with Nvidia GPUs are fueling the artificial intelligence boom, generating extraordinary wealth for chipmakers, cloud providers, and startups racing to train large-scale models. But beneath the boomtime exuberance, investors and engineers increasingly... Read Entire Article from TechSpot https://ift.tt/tQnaErp via

TSMC struggles to meet surging AI chip demand amid data center boom

The memory shortage is driving up prices for SSDs, GPUs, and hard drives – even phone makers are cutting projections

With the DRAM shortage already making memory upgrades prohibitively expensive, high-end SSD prices have also spiked in recent weeks. This surge is being driven by the same market dynamics behind the memory crunch: soaring demand from AI data centers and ongoing global supply chain constraints. Bungies Marathon gets March release date

Bungie’s long-gestating follow-up project is finally getting a release date. Marathon is set to launch on March 5 for $39.99 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game marks Bungie’s first brand-new release since Destiny 2 in 2017, and a modern reimagining of its cult-classic 1990s IP. Set in the year 2850, Marathon casts players as Runners operating in three-person squads, dropping into hostile zones to scavenge loot while fending off both AI enemies and rival players. Unlike 1994’s Marathon , which was a linear, story-driven FPS, this version is firmly positioned as a PvPvE extraction shooter. SEE ALSO: Yes, GTA VI is officially delayed again. Here's what we know. Originally slated for a September release, Marathon was delayed last June following mixed-to-negative feedback from its alpha playtest. Players cited a cluttered UI, unexciting gunplay, and a pace that felt sluggish compared to other extraction shooters already on the market. The delay was framed ...

The iPhone 18 Pro’s biggest change may be its selfie camera

Apple’s next front-facing redesign may hinge less on the Dynamic Island and more on where the selfie camera finally lands. According to a growing pile of leaks , the iPhone 18 Pro could move its front camera to a small punch-hole cutout in the top-left corner of the display, a noticeable break from Apple’s centered approach over the past few years. SEE ALSO: Apple will refine Gemini for Siri use on its own, report says As first reported by The Information , Apple is expected to introduce under-display Face ID on the iPhone 18 Pro models, allowing the TrueDepth sensors to sit invisibly beneath the screen. That would leave only the selfie camera visible, no longer requiring the pill-shaped cutout we know as the Dynamic Island. Instead of centering that punch-hole, the leak suggests Apple may tuck the selfie camera into the top-left corner, where the clock currently sits. This aligns with earlier reporting that notes that leaker Digital Chat Station claims only the Pro models w...

Artemis 2: Next steps for NASAs moon rocket after historic roll to pad

NASA will soon run a high‑stakes fueling test on its Artemis II rocket, a practice run that must succeed before four astronauts can fly around the moon . The U.S. space agency inched the 11 million-pound Space Launch System and mobile launcher to a Cape Canaveral, Florida, launchpad on Saturday, Jan. 17. The slow procession of the 322-foot rocket, topped with the Orion spaceship, took 12 hours on the aging crawler-transporter to complete.  That four-mile trek could mark the first leg of Artemis II, a 10-day journey around the moon and back that will put the spaceship through its paces. The lunar mission will be NASA's first with astronauts —Victor Glover, Christina Koch, Reid Wiseman , and Canada's Jeremy Hansen — in 53 years since Apollo 17.  The so-called "wet dress rehearsal" will load the mega moon rocket with 700,000 gallons of ultra‑cold liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propellants and take the countdown all the way to 29 seconds before liftoff. How...
