Money Fellows, an Egyptian fintech digitizing money circles, raises $31M funding

Egyptian fintech Money Fellows has raised $31 million in what it describes as the first close of its Series B investment. Other participating investors include Partech, Sawari Ventures, Invenfin, National Investment Company (NIC), 4DX Ventures and P1Ventures. Money Fellows has raised $37 million in total funding since its inception. Don't expect the M2 MacBook Pro and Mac mini until next year

The rumor mill about Apple launching M2-powered Macs this November was churning, but now it seems we'll have to wait until next year. SEE ALSO: Apple confirms USB-C is coming to iPhone: 'We have no choice' According to Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman, Apple isn't planning to release new versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros until the beginning of 2023. Tweet may have been deleted (opens in a new tab) Insiders initially expected a third round of product launches to follow Apple's September iPhone 14 event and October M2 iPad Pro, entry-level iPad , and Apple TV 4K announcement. But that is no longer the case. During last Thursday's quarterly earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook effectively confir

Remote work is here to stay. Here’s how to manage your staff from afar

Over the last two and a half years, remote and hybrid working has become the norm — a majority of employed Americans have the option of working from home for all or part of the week, and 87% of workers who were offered remote work embraced the opportunity heartily. While some companies are pushing for a return to the office, today’s strapped labor market is giving employees more power to push back for remote, or at least flexible, jobs. This isn’t just a pandemic response anymore — it’s a way of life, and it has the potential to make some businesses better. People who work from home have been reporting an uptick in their productivity levels without the distractions that come with an office — Oh, it’s Beth’s birthday. Cupcakes in the kitchen!  But both employers and employees have reported some downsides to remote work. Isolation can make people feel lonely and disconnected, leading to mental health issues. Learning and collaboration have taken a hit without the human element of bein

31 best breakup movies to mend a shattered heart

Happy endings are nice and all, but even the most idealistic among us know they don't always last. Sometimes, the happy ending is just the start of a larger story that ends with someone weeping into a pint of ice cream alone on the couch, flipping channels in search of something to mend a broken heart, or at least distract from the pain for a bit. In other words, sometimes what you need is not a love story but a breakup movie. We've compiled 31 of the best breakup movies to help you process your sadness, exorcise your rage, or encourage you to dust yourself back up and move the hell on. Here are the 31 best breakup movies streaming and where to watch them.  1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind They say it's better to have loved and lost, but try telling that to someone still smarting from a breakup. 'Quordle' today: Here are the answers and hints for October 30

Quordle is fun, but it can, at times, feel like more trouble than it's worth. Sometimes when your guesses are running low, and the words aren't materializing in your mind, you might think, Why am I doing this? And while I can't answer that, I do have a reminder for you: It's free. If Quordle is a little too challenging today, you've come to the right place for hints. There aren't just hints here, but the whole Quordle solution. Scroll to the bottom of this page, and there it is. But are you sure you need all four answers? Maybe you just need a strategy guide. Either way, scroll down, and you'll get what you need. What is Quordle ? Quordle is a five-letter word guessing game similar to Wordle , except each guess applies letters to four words at the same time. You get nine guesses instead of six to correctly guess all four words. It looks like playing four Wordle games at the same time, and that is essentially what it is. But it's not nearly as i

The best tumble dryers for efficient clothes drying

Do you need a tumble dryer? They’re an essential appliance in busy households. Anyone who always seems to have three washing loads on the go at once will understand just how useful they are. And with winter drawing in, you need a means of drying clothes indoors. But shopping for a tumble dryer is about more than just drying your pants. With the cost of living crisis in full force, everyone’s trying to save money and be more efficient with their energy use. It’s worth mentioning that if you want to save even more, it’s worth considering an electric drying rack — they’re cheaper to run than a tumble dryer. Though they may take longer to dry big loads of washing. You might see different types of tumble dryers out there, such as smart or integrated dryers. But they fall into three main categories: heat pump, vented, and condenser. But what are they and which is best? Here’s some useful information to get you started. What is a heat pump tumble dryer? Based on our own research for thi

Here’s why ServiceNow’s stock soared in a week of dismal tech earnings reports

If you’re a regular reader of this publication, chances are you know that it hasn’t been a great year for many tech company stocks — one in which giants like Meta , Amazon, and Alphabet have been mauled by the markets after less than stellar earnings reports. Even an enterprise stalwart like Salesforce is behind hounded by activist investors . The fact is that few have been spared, whether startups or established public companies. We’ve seen a litany of stories on hiring freezes, layoff announcements , and tech stocks taking bigger hits than an NFL quarterback behind a bad offensive line — in other words, getting crushed. SaaS stocks in particular are having a rough year, so when a SaaS stock does well, well, that’s news. And that’s what happened to ServiceNow this week when it reported Q32022 earnings . It bucked the odds with a mostly positive earnings report — good revenue, good guidance, the whole nine yards — and believe it or not, Wall Street rewarded the company, with

Google filing says EU’s antitrust division is investigating Play Store practices

A Google regulatory filing appears to have confirmed rumors in recent months that the European Union’s competition division is looking into how it operates its smartphone app store, the Play Store. However TechCrunch understands that no formal EU investigation into the Play Store has been opened at this stage. The SEC Form 10-Q, filed by Google’s parent Alphabet (and spotted earlier by Reuters ), does make mention of “formal” investigations being opened into Google Play’s “business practices” back in May 2022 — by both the European Commission and the U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Thing is, the Commission’s procedure on opening a formal competition investigation is to make a public announcement — so the lack of that standard piece of regulatory disclosure suggests any EU investigation is at a more preliminary stage than Google’s citation might imply. The U.K. antitrust regulator’s probe of Google Play is undoubtedly a formal investigation — having been publicly com
